LEE H. FREEDMAN
Lee H. Freedman is an experienced attorney with nearly twenty-eight years of professional legal experience. Lee has represented community associations since 2000. During his career, his practice has focused as well on complex civil litigation, construction defect litigation, insurance litigation, employment law, franchise law, real estate, and corporate transactions. Lee is highly energetic, outgoing and pragmatic in his approach to the legal matters he handles. His assertive, team-oriented approach, problem solving skills, and outside-the-box thinking enable him to provide comprehensive, effective and efficient counsel to his clients while anticipating potential problems before they arise.
Lee’s focus in housing is:
- General counsel representation of community associations, community management companies
- Additionally, Lee’s practice fuses a unique combination of litigation of community association disputes and complex transactional and general counsel representation for communities with unique issues.
Lee grew up in Colorado and graduated from the University of Colorado in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in marketing and finance. Lee graduated from the University of Gonzaga School of Law in 1995 where he obtained a juris doctor.
Prior to joining JPK, he was a founding partner of WF Legal and practiced in boutique law firms in California, specializing in community association law (including construction defect litigation and complex civil litigation), alternative medicine law, and other corporate litigation, employment matters, and transactional matters. Lee, with his family, moved back to Colorado in 1995, where he continues to lay deep roots in helping Colorado communities resolve complex disputes. In addition to Lee’s litigation and transactional law practice, Lee is passionate about working in a wide array of educational presentations for the community association industry.
Lee is a three-time Colorado High School state gymnastics champion, a letterman from CU as a Ralphie Runner, and an alumni of the Alpha Epsilon Pi and Phi Alpha Delta Fraternities. Lee recently retired as a men’s gymnastics coach and enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, a junior at the University of Colorado. Lee is also a member of the Colorado Legislative Action Committee for the Colorado chapters of the Community Association Institute, a former member of the respective Education Committees for the Rocky Mountain and Southern Colorado Chapters of the Community Association Institute, and a member of the 2024 Colorado HOA Task Force.
