Taylor Clapp
Prior to joining JPK, Taylor worked at the Eighth Judicial District Attorney’s Office as a Deputy District Attorney and handled a wide array of criminal prosecutions – from misdemeanor DUIs all the way to attempted homicides. During his tenure, he tried over 15 jury trials to verdict as first chair. While at the DA’s Office, Taylor took sole responsibility for petitioning and arguing in front of the Colorado Supreme Court on a novel legal issue. The Colorado Supreme Court affirmed his reasoning in People v. Kembel, 2023 CO 5. Prior to working for the Eighth Judicial DA’s Office, Taylor clerked for the Hon. Susan Blanco. Taylor also worked for the firm as a summer associate, where he helped Andy draft a response brief in a case where the Colorado Court of Appeals affirmed a large judgement in favor of a client.
Taylor graduated Cum Laude from Creighton University in 2018 where he was a Student Articles Editor of the Creighton Law Review. Taylor received his B.A. in English from Regis University here in Denver, Colorado. When not in the office, Taylor enjoys fly fishing and skiing.
